Despite a drizzly day, Seattle-OPSB's Golf Tournament was a rousing success. A great turnout and enthusiastic players made the event fun for all. Around the course, there was some chatter of having more golf tournaments in the future. With the results from this event, Seattle-OPSB certainly wants to plan another tournament.
This event couldn't have been made possible without the generous donations from our sponsors and the participation of the players. A special thanks to Billy Whelan for all his work helping organize the tournament.

Across the border, the Orca's traveled to Richmond in what is a regular occurrence this year. Despite playing a good game and holding the lead for most of the 80, the Orca II (aka Steelhead) lost a nail biter, 23-19.
The Orca I did not fare nearly as well. Losing a lopsided fixture, 43-10.

The United States Rugby Football Foundation Board of Trustees and Directors have named their list of inductees into the U.S Rugby Hall of Fame this week. A total of 11 inductees which includes Mr. Dick Smith, will be honored this year at the Inn at the Ballpark in Houston, Texas on Saturday, June 8, 2013 prior to the U.S. Eagles match against Ireland.
R.W. “Dick” Smith, Founding member of the United States of America Rugby Football Union; past president of the Midwest and Pacific Northwest Rugby Unions; past president of the Chicago Lions RFC and Old Puget Sound Beach.
The Seattle Orca's made their first trip to Canada for the spring half of the BCRU season last weekend to face long time foes; Abbotsford RFC. These two sides have squared off half a dozen times over the past few years, in what can be described as nothing less than a 80 minute physical battle, with the boys from Canada holding the majority of the wins.
Although it was Seattle's home game, Abbotsford opted to follow the advice of the BCRU Competition Committee and not travel across the US - Canada border to play this fixture.
Ruggers and Supporters:

We would be pleased if you could join us and the Vikings for their last tour fundraiser to kick off St. Paddy's day weekend. Tickets are $20/$25 at the door. Seven wines to taste with great food available through Paddy's.
