Despite a drizzly day, Seattle-OPSB's Golf Tournament was a rousing success. A great turnout and enthusiastic players made the event fun for all. Around the course, there was some chatter of having more golf tournaments in the future. With the results from this event, Seattle-OPSB certainly wants to plan another tournament.
This event couldn't have been made possible without the generous donations from our sponsors and the participation of the players. A special thanks to Billy Whelan for all his work helping organize the tournament.
We have a full day of rugby for you this weekend.
Unfortunately our Orca's are once again on the road so instead we as that you join us for the 3rd Elite Cup fixture of the half. As well as a curtain raiser by the Seattle Breakers and the Seattle Vikings

Last weekend Seattle OPSB traveled for 3 games.
The Beach Dogs flew to Glendale Colorado in their 2nd Elite Cup fixture of the season to face the Raptors at Infinity Park. Despite going a close game at half, Glendale came out on top 49-39.
Across the border, the Orca's traveled to Richmond in what is a regular occurrence this year. Despite playing a good game and holding the lead for most of the 80, the Orca II (aka Steelhead) lost a nail biter, 23-19.
The Orca I did not fare nearly as well. Losing a lopsided fixture, 43-10.
The big day is almost here. This Sunday morning at 10am, you will need to be at the West Seattle Golf Course for registration. All participants will be assigned a starting hole and given their golf carts for the day. The shotgun start will be at 11am.

This is a big part of our annual fundraising push and we want to get everyone with an affiliation with the club and a love of the game behind us to promote your business to our players, Old Boys, and to our entire network.

In honor of St. Patrick's day weekend, the Rowers will make their way across the treacherous USA / Canada border which has scared off so many other BCRU teams.
This is fixture number 3 of the Spring BCRU Season and promises to be a great double header at Magnuson Park.
1:00pm: Orca II (a.k.a. Steal-Head) Vs. Rowers II
2:30pm: Orca I Vs. Rowers I
7:00pm: Post game players and supporters function at Paddy Coynes - Pier 70
Come on out and support the Orca's and show the Rowers a great time.
The United States Rugby Football Foundation Board of Trustees and Directors have named their list of inductees into the U.S Rugby Hall of Fame this week. A total of 11 inductees which includes Mr. Dick Smith, will be honored this year at the Inn at the Ballpark in Houston, Texas on Saturday, June 8, 2013 prior to the U.S. Eagles match against Ireland.
R.W. “Dick” Smith, Founding member of the United States of America Rugby Football Union; past president of the Midwest and Pacific Northwest Rugby Unions; past president of the Chicago Lions RFC and Old Puget Sound Beach.
The Seattle Orca's made their first trip to Canada for the spring half of the BCRU season last weekend to face long time foes; Abbotsford RFC. These two sides have squared off half a dozen times over the past few years, in what can be described as nothing less than a 80 minute physical battle, with the boys from Canada holding the majority of the wins.
Although it was Seattle's home game, Abbotsford opted to follow the advice of the BCRU Competition Committee and not travel across the US - Canada border to play this fixture.
Ruggers and Supporters:
Our Seattle Vikings are going on tour this spring and have been fundraising to help subsidize the cost of this event. We would be pleased if you could join us and the Vikings for their last tour fundraiser to kick off St. Paddy's day weekend. Tickets are $20/$25 at the door. Seven wines to taste with great food available through Paddy's.
