Match Report:

Heading into their 1st BCRU game of the season, SRFC's division 2 team was looking to start of on the right foot against the Scribes. Making the long drive from Seattle, players we're anxious to get out of their cars and onto the pitch. Shortly after the opening kick-off, the Scribes struck with a try after several missed tackles by the Seattle defense. Determined to take back control of the match, the Seattle squad took it back to the opposition. Scoring several unanswered tries the hometown Scribes found themselves on their heels. Driven by some great support play by forwards John Lambert and Abe King. The backs were able to open the game up and show the Scribes that their tactics would not be able to break the SRFC's defense. Linking up for several tries, outside backs Anthony Cantu, Andrew Parker and Lap Nyguen were able to "seal the deal" and take the win 45-14.

After a last minute win against Kelowna, Seattle's division-1 side was looking to take home a more convincing win against the Scribes 1st squad. This did not turn out to be the case. After some early tries by Seattle, the Scribes answered back capitalizing on Seattle's mistakes to bring the score to 15-13 for Seattle with 10 minutes left in the match. After slotting a penalty kick from 40 meters out, the Scribes took the lead by 1. Shortly after, last week's hero of the game Mark Gallo answered back kicking his own 40 meter goal. Leading by 2 again, Seattle needed to take the game back to the Scribes. After an unfortunate handling error, Scribes winger was making a 70 meter break for the try line. From across the field fullback and winger Adam Pugh and Tony Ursino were able to chase down the hometown winger and saved the day by making the tackle with 5 meters to go. After a few anxious minutes the referee blew up the match giving Seattle the 18-16 win.
